Our Year 5&6 visited Barton Hall for their summer residential 2024
Year 3&4 visited the Royal Cornwall Museum. They took part in a workshop to support their history topic about the Egyptians. This was a fun and interactive session where they consolidated their knowledge.
Our Year 8 students visited Bodmin Keep as part of their History topic, exploring artefacts from the past, learning about life in the trenches and completing various teambuilding tasks.
Year 3&4 took part in their annual school camp, visiting Lappa Valley and Newquay Zoo with a sleepover at school and lots of fun and games.
Year 7 & 8 stayed at Treyarnon Bay Youth Hostel. They had action packed days visiting water parks, go-kart tracks and
Year 3 and 4 visited the Eden Project to find out where their food comes from. They met the Crazy chef who sent them out into the biomes to find the ingredients needed to complete a recipe. Once they found everything that was needed the Crazy chef baked them a delicious banana bread and the children then explored the rest of the site.
Year 6 & 7 visited the Eden Project to take part in a workshop finding Fibonacci. They explored and discover the mathematical patterns hidden in nature. They went on a journey around the biomes to identify commonly occurring numbers which lead them to the Fibonacci sequence.
As part of their local history unit the Year 5&6 pupils visited Geevor tin mine. They explored mining history, experienced the mining processes used in the past, panned for gold and went underground along the Geevor mine tour.
Year 1&2 were learning about Old Toys so they visited the Helston Museum of Cornish life to look at and play with the old toys before comparing Teddy bears and making their own peg doll.
Year 5 were making Automata's in DT so we visited Falmouth Art Gallery to explore their Automata's and then they designed and made their own moving autoamta toy to take away.
Reception/Year 1 and 2 visited Hayle Library to sign up for thier own library cards and borrow some books. This really showed the love of books and our young children were delighted to share stoies out of the classroom.
Reception/ Year 1 and 2 were learning about the seaside past and present. They visited the beach to explore geographical features, wrote seaside poems by exploring using their senses and made exciting sand sculptures and played beach games.
Our Year 9/10/11 students visited London, going to watch Mrs Doubtfire in the theatre, visiting The Globe, The Natural History Museum
Our year 10&11 Geographers completed one of their fieldwork tasks at Eden. They were comparing temperature, moisture levels and conditions in the biomes and applying their data to make comparisons with rainforest locations around the world
