Special Events Gallery

We hold various special events throughout the year these might be school events, local, national or international and may involve us making a visit or us having visitors into school.

Superstar - Our primary school Christmas Play

Christmas Lunch

We held our annual Whole School Christmas Lunch on Wednesday 27th November. Thank you to the wonderful team who decorated the hall and made sure this the truly special event ran smoothly.

Odd Socks Day

As part of our ongoing commitment to Antibullying we took part in The Antibullying Alliances Odd Socks Day on Tuesday 12th November. This was a fun day aimed at promoting individuality and allowing people to be themselves and looking at what makes us all unique. These qualities are all things which underpin school life at The Cornwall Independent School, where we respect individual differences in our pupils.

World Book Day

At the Cornwall Independent School we promote and develop a passion for reading. We believe that reading is of high importance as it allows access to all areas of the curriculum and access to the wider world. Reading stimulates our brains improving our health and well-being. We read daily with our pupils in the primary phase and our secondary pupils are all encouraged to have a book to read in any free time. Our pupils study a variety of texts within their lessons through-out the whole school.

World book day was a great chance to become a book character for a day and we held a book swap where pupils could exchange books they no longer wanted but it allowed them to find new reading materials. We encouraged the staff and pupils to bring in their favourite books and spent a few moments sharing these within class.

We recently held a extreme reading competition which encouraged pupils to think of creative and interesting places to read a book.

Save the Children

We held a Christmas Jumper day on the last day term with donations going the the Save the Children Christmas Jumper Appeal.

In addition and to celebrate our love of all things Christmas the parents, pupils and staff were all demonstrating their creativity by making decorations. We then held a raffle to raise more funds for the appeal which took place after our carol service on the last day of term. .
